About Home Cook Network

Home Cook Network is a small independent recipe site for people who cook at home on ordinary weeknights.

What you will find here

Short, complete recipes grouped by category: weeknight dinners, one-pan and sheet-pan meals, soups and stews, vegetarian mains, baking basics and breakfast. Alongside them are guides to the skills behind the recipes: pantry staples, knife skills, food safety, meal planning and substitutions.

How the recipes are written

Recipes are built on standard home cooking ratios and methods, with amounts given in metric and US measures. Where doneness matters for safety, we give an internal temperature based on published food safety guidance rather than a cooking time alone. We keep recipes short on purpose: one screen, ordinary ingredients, and steps that say what you should see at each stage.

We do not publish ratings, reviews or user comments.

Measuring conventions

  • Spoons are level: 1 tsp = 5 ml, 1 tbsp = 15 ml.
  • 1 US cup = 240 ml. Cup conversions for flour and sugar are rounded, so weigh them if you have scales.
  • Eggs are large.
  • Oven temperatures are for a conventional oven. Fan or convection ovens usually need about 20°C (25°F) less.

What we are not

We are not dietitians, and the recipes are not designed for any medical diet. We don't sell ingredients or equipment, and there are no partner links on this site.
